A Strange Day
I've been trying to get into a routine before I get back to work in a couple of weeks. I wake up, feed Rome, eat. My wife goes to visit Halo in the NICU first around 11am, and I usually go around 8pm. We're lucky that the hospital isn't that far from us. Making those daily treks to see Halo would be arduous. Then I usually stay up with Rome for feedings while Alana goes to sleep. It works for now, but probably won't in the future.
Today was a strange day for Rome. He ate really well, as usual, and slept really well. During one of his naps, he woke up with a unusual scream. We'd never heard that kind of scream before. We thought he had been bitten by something or was seriously hurt. It was terrifying. I held him to try and calm him down but he kept on for about five minutes. It doesn't seem like much on paper but that was a damn eternity to us. When he finally calmed down, we checked him out. He didn't need a diaper change and he had just ate less than two hours ago. It was really weird. and scary.
Halo is doing really well in the NICU. She is eating 100% of her feedings everyday now. We hope she can come home within the next couple of days. We really want these two to be back together and to finally complete our family. I look forward to the next update. Yeah, there wasn't really much in this one. But some days are just eat, sleep, poop, repeat
